Fastener Self-Captivating Methods
Add to my favorite
Manufacturers tend to dislike fasteners because they represent another part, labor, and the associated costs; they amount to another item to deal with, and a contradiction to the desired efficiencies of design minimalism. These are good arguments to support the policy of using as few fasteners as possible. However, despite these negatives, design advancements, improved materials and technology, plus the growing use of automation, there’s always a need for threaded fasteners for varying clamp pressures, adjustments, and field service compatibility as part of many products’ life cycle.
